Abstract

The TL behavior of a tissue equivalent Li2B4O7: Cu material, prepared by combustion method was studied after exposing the phosphors to 50 MeV Li3+ ion beam in the broad range of fluencies (1 × 1011–3.3 × 1013 ions/cm2). The TL response curve of the exposed samples was found to be linear in the range from 1 × 1011 to 3.3 × 1012 ions/cm2 with a fading of about 7% in a month. The TL glow curve maximum was observed at around 455 K with a small hump at around 405 K. The TL glow peak was deconvoluted to three components using GCD method to get the trapping parameters. The trap depth calculated by peak shape method shows a good agreement with the trap depth values determined by the GCD method. The SRIM code was used to estimate the detailed parameters. These results indicate that Li2B4O7:Cu can be considered as the potential candidate to be used for dosimetry of lithium(Li3+) ions.
