Abstract
This article presents a systematic literature review (SLR) regarding the use of Augmented Reality (AR) as a learning medium. The methods used include SLR and PRISMA, with steps of identification, screening, eligibility evaluation, inclusion and data analysis assisted by the Publish or Perish 7 and NVIVO 12 Plus applications. From a search on Scopus, 800 articles were found which were then filtered based on appropriate themes to become 59 articles. The articles were then analyzed via NVIVO 12 Plus according to the predetermined topics, and the results were explained in line with the research questions. Huge potential exists in AR to positively change education. AR not only increases student engagement and enriches the learning experience, but can also improve conceptual understanding, cognitive skills, and participation in practical activities. AR has the potential to increase participation, especially for students with disabilities. With appropriate training and the right content development, AR can be an effective tool for improving the quality of education in various fields and levels.
