Abstract

Velocity sedimentation, translational diffusion and viscometry have been used to investigate the structure of graft copolymers of dextran-polyacrylamide and dialdehyde dextran-polyacrylamide. Introduction of the aldehyde groups into the main chain raises the frequency of grafting. However, because of the degradation of the main chain, greater in the case of dialdehyde dextran, the number of side chains in the graft copolymers synthesized on bases with different contents of the aldehyde groups is roughly the same.
