Abstract
Discussions on introducing compulsory health insurance in Armenia have been going on for a long time - since 2010, the RA Ministry of Healthcare has been working to make health insurance compulsory in Armenia. Over the past few years, three concepts for comprehensive/compulsory health insurance have been submitted for public discussion, the most recent of which was on January 11, 2023. As part of this work, an analysis of the above-mentioned legislative project was carried out, special attention was paid to the advantages of the project over previous projects, as well as the gaps and shortcomings in the concept. Compulsory health insurance should be aimed at increasing the level of financial security of the entire population of the country, not have discriminatory manifestations, have a clearly emphasized social orientation, and at the same time introduce regulation and control both in the healthcare sector and in the insurance industry.
