Abstract
The article presents a theoretical overview of scientific views on the concept of “cluster”. This overview was carried out within the framework of using cluster models of economic development at the national and regional levels in terms of ensuring sustainable competitiveness of socio-economic systems. The issues of searching for factors of growth of competitiveness through such a promising direction as the formation of educational clusters are considered. It is determined that, on the one hand, regional educational clusters can become the basic basis, thanks to which a national innovation system will be formed. On the other hand, their development will contribute to the growth of the socio-economic potential of the territory, and will increase the level of competitiveness of the region. The article provides a brief overview of scientific views on the concept of “regional educational cluster”.The article proves that the problem of sustainable development and growth of the competitiveness of socio-economic systems at the regional level can be investigated based on the provisions of the general theory of systems. Through the prism of concepts from the category of territorial social systems, the concept of “destination” can be used.The article presents a theoretical overview of scientific views on the concept of “destination”, first of all, as an element of the tourist system. The issues of the typology of destinations on various grounds are considered, and attention is focused on such a type of destination as an educational tourist destination. It is proved that the analysis and assessment of the modern system of educational tourist destinations, the identification of the purpose of regional educational tourist destinations can be appropriate in the formation of the unique competitive advantages of the region. Given today’s unfavourable conditions for the development of tourism activities in general, including for educational tourism, for further research in the field of ensuring sustainable competitiveness of socio-economic systems at the regional level it is proposed to use such a concept as “regional educational destination”.The article proves that the use of the concepts of “regional educational cluster” and “regional educational destination” allows the use of the most complete range of tools for a multifaceted study of the competitive advantages of regional markets of educational services.
