Abstract
The reaction of Ca and Sr atoms with HN 3 has been studied in a beam-gas configuration. Emission from electronically excited metal atoms ( 1 P and 3 P) and the metal hydrides (A 2 π and B 2 Σ + ) was observed. Addibonal molecular chemiluminescence was also seen and assigned to production of electronically excited MOH
