Abstract

Two different attempts have been made to obtain information on surface concentration, concentration gradients, segregation effects and surface contamination of metallic glasses. (i) Angle-resolved Auger electron spectroscopy and variation of the observation angle was applied to Fe81.5B14.5Si4 and (ii) ion scattering spectroscopy in combination with normal emission UV photoelectron and Auger electron spectroscopy to Fe75B25.
