Abstract
The paper presents theoretical studies of the main aspects of high-speed machining; the structure and quality of the surface layer of structural materials, the factors influencing them, the main indicators of the quality of the surface layer. A method of performing studies of the influence of traditional and high-speed machining modes on the state of the surface layer has been developed.
