Abstract

We have studied the dielectric polarization induced by periodic spherical bending in KTaO3 thin (140 μm) single-crystal plates. It has been shown that the induced polarization can be attributed to the direct flexoelectric effect and space redistribution of charges. An effective transverse flexoelectric tensor has been estimated. We have studied the relaxation of the polarization and inhomogeneous deformation and obtained their relaxation times.
