Abstract
In this paper, a network security management system is studied based on the client/server model and proposed to enable a security manager to monitor and properly oppose an intrusion to the system from outside. In order to offer a detection of outer-intrusion to the manager, first it is made to define the information related to security collected in the monitored computer, second it is made to transform the information into meaningful information by analyzing and preprocessing it. The preprocessed security management information is appropriately shown to the manager in a form like tables, graphs, and reports. The manager plans a security management policy based on the results analyzed from each monitored system. Here the elements to configure this model-security information collection agent, security manager system, and security management visualization system-are described about their functions and roles.
