Abstract
Sr(1-2x)NaxNdxBi4Ti4O15 (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4 & 0.5) ceramic samples were fabricatedusing sol–gel route. The variations of polarization as a function of electric filed (PE loops) were calculated at various concentration and temperatures. Simulation of polarization data using modified Glazounov equation as proposed by us earlier was carried out. The activation energy induced by electric field and thermally activated orientation of dipoles were calculated using modified Glazounov equation. This equation also gives information about the dipole moment. The value of dipole moment for ceramic samples with x = 0.0 is 3.53x10-26C.m and this value increases with the increase of × value and the dipole moment value at × = 0.5was 6.36x10-26C.m. The increase of dipole moment with the change of concentration and temperature was due to smaller average ionic radii of Na (116 pm) and Nd (143 pm) when compared to ionic radii of Sr (132 pm) causing larger displacement of ions at A site with the doping of Na and Nd at Sr site.
