Abstract

BIM (building information modeling) is an information modeling technology that can support the acceleration of infrastructure development. Building information modeling (BIM) is one of the technologies in the field of AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) that is able to simulate all information into development projects into 3-dimensional models. The purpose of using BIM technology in urban infrastructure development is to help building and construction specialists to design, simulate, visualize, and build better buildings, while BIM is able to reduce errors and omissions, reduce repetitive work processes, and be able to reduce project duration and increase profits for those in the construction industry. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to contracting companies in East Surabaya and found that the use of BIM is very useful to facilitate the process of infrastructure development to be more effective and efficient.
