Abstract
A new type of high frequency RF Microstrip surface coil (transmit/receive) was proposed for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) applications at 7T /300 MHz. Planar RF Microstrip surface coil is formed from the ring resonator loaded with inductor (via) and an interdigital capacitor on a substrate. A detailed simulation study is carried out on this proposed RF Microstrip surface coil detector and its characteristics (resonant frequency, Signal to noise ratio (SNR) and specific absorption rate) comparing with the conventional loop coil detector in the frequency range of 300 MHz/7T for MRI application.
