Abstract
The purpose of this work is to determine the values of limiting radial deformations of modern car tires. The geometric and load parameters of more than 400 "Continental tires" of regular, low and ultra-low profiles were analyzed. It has been established that the relative tires deformations in relation to the profile height are not related to their dimensions and load capacity. It is shown that the relative tires deformations in relation to the free radius are linearly related to their dimensions and load capacity. Deformation limits have been obtained for both conventional tires and low and ultra-low profile tires. Keywords: vehicle tire, motion modeling, relative radial deformations, limit values
