Abstract

Processes of electrodeposition and electrochemical synthesis in many cases are accompanied by chemical reactions. In the present work, the following chemical reactions: comproportionation, disproportionation, displacement, cluster formation, heteronuclear complex formation, polymerization, competitive complex formation, and acidic-basic have been studied by electrochemical transient techniques. The effect of chemical reactions on the composition of electrolysis products is discussed and methods of suppressing the reactions complicating the electrolysis processes are suggested. The results of the synthesis of functional materials using chemical reactions are presented.
