Abstract

To overcome the limitation in bandwidth and power capacity of Traveling-Wave in Ceramic (TWC) coaxial window, a wide-band high-power coaxial window is proposed. Using CST Microwave Studio, a L-band wide-band high-power coaxial window is optimized and the performance is compared with half-wavelength coaxial window and TWC coaxial window, which shows wider bandwidth and higher power capacity of the coaxial window presented in this paper. The −30dB bandwidth of the optimized L-band wide-band high-power coaxial window is about 2.5 times of that of TWC window and the electric field amplitude around the ceramic window is much lower than that of half-wavelength coaxial window. The electric field around the matching iris is greatly decreased to 75% of that of TWC coaxial window.
