Abstract

AbstractA series of fully cured thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) have been developed by mixing plastics and fully cured, ultra‐fine powdered rubbers (UFPRs). The fully cured UFPRs were prepared by the irradiation of rubber latexes and drying of the irradiated rubber latexes. The average particle size of the UFPRs ranged from 50 to 500nm. The influences of the dose rate, absorbed dose and content of cross‐linking agent on the cross‐linking of rubber latexes were studied. It was found that a new type of TPEs with excellent properties can be easily made by blending UFPRs with plastics.
