Abstract

Summary The descriptions of two new species of cephaline gregarines of the genus Didymophyes Stein , 1848, obtained from Indian insects are given in the paper. These are: 1) D. indiae n. sp. from Euparatettix histricus ( Stal ) (LP:TL = 1:6.32; WP:WD = 1:2.21); and 2) D. tridactylae n. sp. from Tridactylus sp. (LP:TL = 1:3.5; WP:WD = 1:1.3). Informations regarding the percentage of infection, seasonal intensity and type materials have also been given.
