Abstract
Chromium ferrocyanide gel shows a great affinity for Ag +, Cu 2+, Tl +, Zn 2+, Co 2+, Cd 2+, Mn 2+ and Fe 3+ and has been used to separate and recover some heavy metal ions viz. Tl +, Hg 2+, Mg 2+, Fe 3+ etc. Some of these can be completely eluted from the columns of this exchanger material and the compound can be used to treat waste water rich in heavy metal ions.
