Abstract

The corrosion behavior of Al7075 in the solid and molten states of phase change material were investigated based on fractal theory in conjunction with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Results indicated that the surface texture parameters were properly used to describe the corrosion degree as well as identify the different pitting stages. Pitting conformed with Weibull distribution. The statistical parameters Skewness and Kurtosis had a good linear relation with fractal dimension (Ds). Additionally, there was linear relationship between Ds and DEIS based on EIS spectra, due to the fractal geometry of Al7075 electrodes that induced time-constant dispersion and resulted in CPE behaviors.
