Abstract
The taxonomic study of mosquito is helpful for the correct identication up to species level. The present study deals with the taxonomy and occurrence of the mosquito genus Aedes from different habitats of Aurangabad city of Maharashtra, India. Total three species of Genus Aedes such as Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus, Aedes vittatus were recorded during the present study. Species were identied as per the standard methodology suggested by Christopher (1933), Barraud, P. J. (1934), Chester J. Stojanovich (1994), Leopoldo M. Rueda (2004), Nagpal and Tingare (2010). This type of taxonomic study helps for effective management of mosquito borne diseases like dengue, yellow fever, chikungunya etc.
