Studies on scale of higher medical education in China

Abstract

According to correlative data from Educational Statistics Yearbook of China (1987-2008 ) and Health Statistics Yearbook of China (2008), This reseatch focused on the analysis of the scale of higher medical education in China by descriptive statistics under the indicators of proportion, ratio, development speed with fixed basis, average speed of growth, etc. This research drew the following conclusions :the outspread of medical education scale is too rapidly, the supply of medical graduates overflow the actual demand of health manpower, the medical education levels are lower, government interfere too much in medical education. Therefore, government should control the scale, increase the investment in medical education, improve the educational level of medical education, and promote the healthy development of medical education.
