Abstract

The crystal growth and photorefractive properties of Mn-doped potassium sodium strontium barium niobate(KNSBN) was reported. The Mn ions doped in the crystals can take part in the photorefractive processes, acting as charge stimulation and combination centers. The two-wave coupling gain coefficient of KNSBN:Mn is increased to be two times greater than that of undoped KNSBN and the self-pumped phase conjugation reflectivity as high as 73%.
