Abstract
Thirty-three new dammarane glycosides, together with nine known compounds, gypenosides IV, VIII, XL VIII, XLIX, LXIX, LXXI, gylongiposide I, allantion and vitexin were isolated from the methanol extract of the aerial parts of Gynostemma pentaphyllum. Their structures were elucidated by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, as well as by chemical degradation.
