Abstract
The new genus Phaeotrichosphaeria is erected to accommodate some unitunicate pyrenomycetes with Endophragmiella anamorphs. Three new species, P. indica, P. britannica and P. hymenochaeticola are described and illustrated. The connexion between Phaeotrichosphaeria and Endophragmiella has not been established in culture but they are very closely associated and connected by the same mycelium. For Sphaeria epochnii Berk. & Br., a new genus, Anomalemma , is established. Exosporiella fungorum is confirmed as the anamorph of Anomalemma. Thaxteriellopsis bambusicola and Discostroma osyridis with a Seimatosporium anamorph are described as new species. Apiospora tintinnabula is conspecific with the earlier Scirrhia bambusina and a new combination, A. bambusina (Turconi) comb.nov., is made. The anamorph Scyphospora phyllostachydis is found to be identical with Melanconium bambusinum and M. hysterinum and is redisposed as S. hysterina (Sacc.) comb.nov.
