Abstract
PVC matrix membrane barium ion-selective electrodes based on 14 different compositions of barium bis-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)-2,6-dinitrophenoxide (sensor) and dioctylphenyl phosphonate plasticizing solvent mediator are evaluated. The best sensor with respect to the slope of the calibration graph, detection limit, resistance and selectivity coefficients consists of 0.4–0.6 g of sensor and 0.31–0.36 g of plasticizing mediator.
