Abstract
Angular distributions and excitation functions of ∝-groups from the reaction32S(d, ∝)30P leading to the ground and first excited states have been studied in the deuteron energy range from 2.0 to 2.5 MeV. Angular distributions and excitation functions showed characteristic features of the compound nucleus mechanism. Further it was observed that the averaged intensity of ∝-groups obeyed the (2I+1) rule. Angular distributions of the elastically scattered douterons from32S nuclei did not show any remarkable deviation from the Rutherford law.
