Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to examine the selection process in vocational education in the basic course of commerce and administration, where students’ selection occurs in two stages. The basic course is selected by application to vocational education (1st stage) and after a specialization period at the end of the one‐year introduction period (2nd stage). This study is interested in the latter stage when students make their choice concerning the level of specialization (school/lower or institute/higher). The article is concerned with the equality of education according to social background and gender in this context. The results are analyzed by log‐linear models.
