Abstract
Educational and vocational career guidance is an important activity in Danish secondary schools. Many types of material are used in counselling. In order to add efficiency to the counselling and to motivate students—who are insecure because of restrictions and limitations within the educational system and within the labour market—computer software is being integrated as well. The counselling program Maxi-Due was tested in January 1990 with twenty students as part of their ordinary counselling session. In general the students rated the program very positively, and it is a clear conclusion that the program can play an important role in Danish secondary schools. However, this role is different for different groups of students. In some cases the program serves as an information base, and in other eases it plays the part as a motivator and facilitator as well.
