Abstract
It was found that the chaotization of parametrically excited capillary waves occurs at small supercriticalities in experiments with a highly randomized pump. It was revealed that the ripple pulsations took place with almost full conservation of the wave field structure. The characteristic fluctuation frequency as computed from the records of the spatial picture of the ripples was found to be a function of the supercriticality. The numerical simulations of this process showed a good agreement with measurements.
