Abstract

The structure of the glasses in the (0.15Ga 2S 3×0.85GeS 2) 1− x −(Nd 2S 3) x system has been investigated by X-ray scattering. From the width of the first sharp diffraction peak the correlation length ( R c) of the medium-range order has been calculated. The dependence of R c on the chemical composition of glasses is discussed in the frame of the model of strong co-ordination ability of Nd atoms. The proposed model describes the experimental results.
