Abstract
CdS films have been produced by the chemical spray method on glass substrates using a centrifugal disk atomizer. The film growth rate was found to depend on substrate temperature, solution concentration and feed rate. The film structure was studied by electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction and a fine-grained wurtzite structure was obtained. In films with thickness exceeding 1 μm, a texture with the c axis parallel to the growth direction was obtained. The effect of post-deposition annealing on texture is also discussed.
