Abstract

AbstractThe structure and volumes of catches of commercial species of aquatic biological resources in the Azov and Black Seas within the territory of Krasnodar krai have been analyzed. Information is given about the main families and taxa, the specimens of which form the basis of the fishery. About two hundred companies carry out commercial fishing in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov within the territory of Krasnodar krai. Taxa belonging to 13 families are identified in the structure of fish catches in the Black Sea. The representatives of such families as Clupeidae, Engraulidae and Mullidae are of the highest commercial importance; they account for 97% of aquatic biological resources harvested by industrial fishing. The representatives of other 10 families account for 3% of catches. In the Sea of Azov, taxa belonging to 10 families were objects of industrial fishing. The commercial fishing is based on three families, Clupeidae, Mugilidae and Cyprinidae. In total, the share of these three families accounts for 92% of the total catches of aquatic biological resources.KeywordsAzov-Black Sea basinFisheriesCommercial fishCatchKrasnodar krai
