Abstract

AbstractThere are so many researchers who studied how to help blind people to recognize the world using Braille produced by 3D printing technology. The Braille puzzles based on 3D printing technology are convenient for the beginners to learn Braille writing and can be used repeatedly. But spelling with 3D-printed blind spots isn’t as easy as it is for the rest of the population because of the limited vision of blind people. So it is necessary to design a suit of convenient Braille puzzle board. Based on the principle of 3D printed Braille that it should be used easily by the blind people, the structures of raised dots and flat dots which are easy to be assembled have been designed in this paper. A storage board is also designed to accommodate these dots and at the same time these dots are easily in and out of the board. Three kinds of single-word board structures are listed and the path of spelling the braille dots is planned, which is convenient for the blind people to complete the fast spelling. The optimal structure and path were selected and printed by photosensitive resin. The experimental results show that the designed structure can improve the speed and accuracy of Braille spelling when using these Braille puzzles.Keyword3D printingBraille puzzlesStructure design
