Abstract

New cationic lanthanide(III) complexes with carbacylamidophosphate ligand of general formula [Ln(L)2(bipy)2]BPh4 (where Ln = Eu, Tb; L- = bis(N,N'-diethylamido)(N-trichloroacetyl)triamidophosphate-ion; bipy = 2,2′–bipyridine) were synthesized and characterized by means of elemental, X-Ray and thermal analyses, IR and luminescence spectroscopy. According to the X-ray diffraction analysis the both lanthanide complexes are isostructural with octacoordinated lanthanide ions in a square antiprismatic coordination environment. It was shown that [Eu(L)2(bipy)2]BPh4 and [Tb(L)2(bipy)2]BPh4 compounds display intense red and green photoluminescence respectively with decay times over millisecond.
