Abstract

Structure and hyperfine parameters of nanocrystalline metastable SmFe9−yMy ( M = Si, Ga) and RTiFe9−xCox ( R = Pr, Sm) alloys, precursors of equilibrium Rm Sm2(Fe, M )17 and I4/ mmm RTi(Fe,Co)11 phases have been investigated. The Rietveld analysis leads to the stoichiometry 1/9 and 1/10 for the precursor of the 2/17 and 1/12 alloys. Silicon, gallium and cobalt are located in 3g sites, titanium in 6l site of the P6/mmm structure. The hyperfine parameters were assigned according to the relationship between the Wigner-Seitz cell volume of each iron site and their isomer shift. The recurrent sequences δ2 e > δ3 g > δ6 l and HHF 2 e > HHF 6 l > HHF3g are observed. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
