Abstract

Barium-strontium niobate Sr0.5Ba0.5Nb2O6 epitaxial thin films with SrRuO3 epitaxial bottom electrode were sputtered on MgO(001) substrates by RF cathode deposition in an oxygen atmosphere. The produced Sr0.5Ba0.5Nb2O6/SrRuO3/MgO is a high quality heterostructure without any impurity phases. The formation of domains with two orientations is observed in the Sr0.5Ba0.5Nb2O6 layer. In both layers of the heterostructure, there are rather strong deformations of unit cells. Hysteresis in the ε'/ε0(T, f) temperature dependences was found at the room temperature.
