Abstract

The temperature dependence of photostimulated exoelectron emission from vitreous and crystalline (grey) selenium and from vitreous boric anhydride B 2O 3 are presented. It was found that in all the cases the curves of the temperature dependence of emission intensity displayed peaks at temperatures corresponding to the structural transformations in the materials investigated. This makes exoelectron emission a very useful tool for the detection of the phase transformations in amorphous solids.
