Abstract
The structure of molten albite (NaAlSi 3 O 8 ) at 1460K has been determined by the high temperature energy dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDXD) method, Tetrahedral local ordering structure of SiO 4 and AlO 4 is suggested as a fundamental local unit of molten albite. The linkage of this structural unit is also discussed in comparison with the structure of crystalline albite.
