Abstract
By a combination of chemical, 1H and 13C NMR, and mass spectrometric studies, two alternative structures for Moroidin, from Laportea moroides , have been elucidated. Moroidin, which may be responsible at least in part for the toxicity of Laportea moroides , is a tricyclic octapeptide containing an unusual C-N linkage between tryptophan and histidine residues.
