Abstract
The Cu-Co spinel ferrite system has been developed through solid-state reaction route, keeping in mind their valuable technological approach and need of structural stability. XRD profiles followed by Rietveld refinement have been used for confirmation of formation of crystalline single phase with Fd3m space group. Various parameters like, crystallite size (D), X-ray density (dx) and lattice parameters were calculated using XRD data. Behavior of dc conductivity with temperature was investigated and found to increase with temperature. Hopping conduction mechanism is found to be the basic reason for conduction phenomena in the present system. Activation energy has been determined from Arrhenius plot of dc conductivity. Decrease of dc conductivity and increase of activation energy and resistivity were observed with cobalt addition.
