Abstract

Optically High quality transparent semi-organic nonlinear optical bulk single crystal of L-Alanine Sodium Sulphate (LASS) has been grown from the aqueous solution by slow solvent evaporation technique. The grown crystal structure and lattice parameters were determined by both Powder and Single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The various functional groups present in the grown crystals were analysed by FTIR technique.UV–visible transmittance spectrum was recorded by the study the optical transparency of grown crystal. The grown crystals were subjected to thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA) used to find the thermal stability of the crystal. The second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of LASS crystal was determined by using Kurtz and Perry powder technique. The mechanical property of the grown crystals has been studied using Vicker’s microhardness tester. Dielectric studies are also carried out for the grown samples of different temperatures.
