Abstract

Abstract Structures and electrochemical behaviors of nitroxide radicals reveal that their rapid and reversible redox reactions are based not only on their chemical stability but also on the increased sp2 character of nitrogens which is intermediate between the purely sp2 and sp3 nitrogens in oxoammonium cations and amines, respectively.
