Abstract

The structure and morphology of the floor of the West Australian Basin and adjacent areas are described. Four main levels of the floor are identified according to geographic zonality and morphology. Structural-geomorphological elements of the basin's rim are subdivided into two groups: those formed simultaneously with the formation and evolution of the continental margin and those formed during intensive subsidence and fracturing of the outer part of the basin.
