Abstract

The oxygen desorption processes of Ta 2Ba 2CuO 6 and Ti 0.5Pb 0.5Sr 2CuO 5 with double and single TI layer structures, respectively were studied by non-isothermal thermagravimetry (TG) with slow brating rates of 10–30° /h in Ar and O 2 streams. The structural changes and the valence changes of the metals caused by the oxygen desorption were examined. The TG curve of TI 2Ba 2CuO 6 gave an inflection point around at 600 °C, indicating that the oxygen desorption occurred separately from decomposition. In this course, the tetragonal unit was kept and the cell dimension a increased. TI 0.5P 0.5Sr 2CuO 5 had no labile oxygen which is released separately from decomposition and can changed a .
