Abstract

The accelerated industrial growth of Siberia is an important element of the economic strategy that is being implemented in accordance with the decisions of party congresses and state economic and social development plans. Siberia has become the home of the country's principal fuel and energy base, and on its territory in recent decades have been formed territorial production complexes of national economic significance and scores of large industrial enterprises. Resource-rich regions of Siberia are now under development, and more and more new large-scale projects are on tap. It is not surprising that, in the minds of millions of people, Siberia is associated with rapid and stable economic growth.
