Abstract
The major interest in the last year has been in the very high energy results coming from the intersecting storage rings (ISR) at CERN, Geneva, and the National Accelerator Laboratory (NAL) in the USA. The ISR has excited much admiration for the sophisticated technical developments used to make it work efficiently at luminosities in excess of the design figures.
