Abstract

A simple method is presented to expand the eigenvaluesEl(g) for a central potentialV(r), with Coulomb behaviour at the origin, as a power series in 1/g. The rational approximants to such series may provide accurate estimates ofEnl(g). We illustrate the merits of this strong-coupling expansion method for the Yukawa potential. As shown, the technique herein developed works extraordinarily well in this typical example.
