Abstract
The great debate over sex-based disparities in abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) outcomes launched Nana et al1 to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on 30-day mortality after open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair in both urgent and elective settings exclusively in women. Women have historically been under-represented or not even represented at all in vascular surgery trials2 challenging translational and human research by a lack of sex-based analysis.3 Given this, the National Institutes of Health and Canadian Institutes of Health Research have required sex to be reported in studies.
