Abstract
It is established that an impact-excited string partly immersed into a liquid at an angle to its surface produces wave transport and spraying of the liquid. The liquid is sprayed from some regions on the string excited at definite frequencies. A law governing the conditions of liquid spraying is found and explained in terms of the phase difference between transverse and longitudinal waves in various regions of the oscillating string.
